We’re now about a decade into the most concentrated period of change the legal sector has gone through in probably more than a century.
There is lots of talk of disruption, but we don’t seem sure who is disrupting, and who is being disrupted. There is lots of talk of transformation, but law firms and legal departments have not fundamentally changed at all in the last decade. There is lots of talk about legal tech and innovation, and lots of people seem to think they are the same thing (but some of us really doubt that is true). Venture capital is flooding the legal tech marketplace, but not all the new players can win – so there will be some big losers.
Many law firm leaders are hoping they can sit this period of change out, some are willing it to be over soon. But some of us think that change has only just begun, and that, as the song said, “you ain’t seen nothing yet”.
How can change leaders in law firms and legal departments, in consultancies and tech vendors, make sense of today’s landscape, and how can we ready ourselves to deal with the ever-faster-moving landscapes that are looming?
This VIP, invite-only, event will cover a number of topics on the evening, such as
- How do you effectively manage, communicate and execute change in an LLP?
- Where should a Change function sit & should a firm have it as a permanent competency?
- Which commonplace business practices do law firms and departments need to adopt without delay?
The event is free to attend and will be held at the Ham Yard Hotel in Central London.
