Bio
John is currently Group HR and Communications Director with First Utility – the largest independent energy provider in the UK. He has previously worked with a range of well-known brands across retail, personal financial services insurance, and Utilities. He had a number of senior roles with Nationwide and was Group HR Director before leaving to focus on business turnaround working with FT250 companies to recover from commercial or regulatory failure.
He has been active in harnessing employee engagement as a driver of business performance and has worked with sector and employer groups in raising the bar for excellence in employment. John contributed to the work with Government in the abolition of the default normal retirement age and equality in the workplace and with Investors in People in their work to reposition their awards accreditation.
